Franklin Cummings Tech (FCT) is among 22 recipients of Ascendium Education Group’s Ready for Pell initiative, which is designed to help institutions that provide postsecondary education in prisons navigate the upcoming changes to the Pell Grant program for student financial assistance. As part of the Ready for Pell initiative, the college will expand the offerings of credential programs to multiple corrections facilities, and place graduates into a variety of "green jobs" as defined by the Department of Labor for the Green Jobs Challenge grant.

More Than Our Worst (MTOW) has been selected as a qualified organization with has access to market research, evidence-based practices, and industry input to help the college expand execution of the Prison Education Program in light of Second Chance Pell providing a viable pathway for those who are educated behind the wall to fund post-secondary education.

MTOW will collaborate with JFF in exploring and identifying grant opportunities that will sustain and scale Franklin Cummings Tech's partnership with the School of Reentry.
